The development and production of vaccines is important to prevent and treat diseases. While traditional vaccines are often produced with the use of chicken eggs, cell culture based approaches are another viable method to manufacture vaccines.

The manufacture of cell culture based vaccines consists of several important steps. Suitable established cell lines have to be selected or developed. These cell lines, e.g. MDCK, HEK293 or Vero, are transfected with specific viruses, which replicate within the cells. The viruses are then harvested and purified, before the vaccine is formulated for administration and storage.

Our products are used during these steps of cell culture based vaccine production. We provide vaccine manufacturers with cell culture media, supplements and freezing media for cell line development and cell expansion, customized media for virus transfection as well as buffer and enzyme solutions for viral harvesting, purification and vaccine formulation.
