A Two-Year OEM Bridge, Delivered Under Pressure
When a regulatory shutdown took a global supplier's US manufacturing site offline, PAN-Biotech stood up production in an emergency, scaled from seven to around twenty-five products, and delivered ~300,000 bottles over two years — with no rejections recorded — until the customer's own site recovered.
A call from a regulator
A regulatory shutdown took a global supplier's US manufacturing site offline, leaving a broad specialty-media portfolio without a source — and every week of shortfall risked cascading to their own customers. The first conversation happened on a trade-show floor: PAN-Biotech's owner heard the problem at the booth and committed, on the spot, to begin producing within six to seven weeks.
Forty days from a handshake to production-ready
Three on-site audits, four contracts across four jurisdictions (the US, Switzerland and two EU countries), tech transfer and MBR preparation — all in forty days. The customer's board approved on 19 December, the last working day before Christmas. Because that decision came late, the before-Christmas start slipped — not on PAN-Biotech's side.
The team that gave up its New Year
Germany's first January week is effectively closed — holidays, year-end closing, inventory, staff on leave. Production began on 2 January anyway, because PAN-Biotech's employees volunteered to come in: 2,000 bottles (1,000 L) on day one, 8,000 in the first week, first shipment mid-January.
Two years, ~300,000 bottles, no rejections recorded
The emergency became a partnership — from ~7 to ~25 products, ~150,000 L / ~300,000 bottles, with PAN-Biotech running the whole chain: Manufacturing Batch Records, raw-material and component procurement, all testing, custom labeling, and packing into the customer's own boxes. To PAN-Biotech's knowledge, no rejections were recorded across the two years — bridging the gap until the customer's own site recovered, and preventing any disruption from reaching their customers.
Why it works
- Owner-level commitment — the decision-maker made the promise, in person, at the first meeting.
- Speed with rigour — three audits and four cross-border contracts in forty days, without cutting a quality corner.
- End-to-end OEM capability — MBRs, procurement, filling, testing, labeling, packing — one partner, one chain.
- Consistency — ~300,000 bottles across two dozen specialty formulations, with no rejections recorded.
