Trypsin 0.25 % / 1 mM EDTA 4 Na in DPBS, w/o: Ca and Mg is a ready-to-use cell detachment solution containing 0.25 % trypsin and 1 mM EDTA (4 Na), formulated in DPBS without calcium and magnesium. Trypsin is a porcine pancreas-derived enzyme (1:250) that dissociates anchorage-dependent cells; EDTA is added to chelate calcium and magnesium and enhance trypsin activity. This variant uses the tetrasodium salt form of EDTA (EDTA 4 Na). After detachment, trypsin should be neutralised with serum-containing medium or a trypsin inhibitor.

Reliable trypsin detachment for routine passaging. 0.25 % trypsin with 1 mM EDTA (4 Na) in DPBS, Ca/Mg-free for effective dissociation.

Why Trypsin 0.25 % / 1 mM EDTA 4 Na in DPBS, w/o: Ca and Mg

  • Effective dissociation – porcine trypsin (1:250) for anchorage-dependent cells.
  • EDTA-enhanced – EDTA chelates Ca/Mg to boost trypsin activity.
  • DPBS base, Ca/Mg-free – formulated to support efficient trypsinisation.
  • Neutralise after use – stop with serum-containing medium or trypsin inhibitor.

Frequently asked questions

What is Trypsin 0.25 % / 1 mM EDTA 4 Na in DPBS, w/o: Ca and Mg?

Trypsin 0.25 % / 1 mM EDTA 4 Na in DPBS, w/o: Ca and Mg is a ready-to-use cell detachment solution containing 0.25 % trypsin and 1 mM EDTA (4 Na), formulated in DPBS without calcium and magnesium. How is Trypsin 0.25 % / 1 mM EDTA 4 Na in DPBS, w/o: Ca and Mg used?

Aspirate medium, rinse the monolayer with Ca/Mg-free salt solution, add enough pre-warmed trypsin to cover the cells and incubate until they round up and detach; then neutralise, centrifuge and resuspend in fresh medium.

How is Trypsin 0.25 % / 1 mM EDTA 4 Na in DPBS, w/o: Ca and Mg stored?

Store the solution at -20 °C. Stable 2 years from production.
