Higher-density fraction

Pancoll human (high density) is a ready-to-use density gradient separation solution based on a hydrophilic polysaccharide (molecular weight 400,000 Da). At a density of 1.100 g/ml, it is optimised for recovery of cells with higher densities by density gradient centrifugation: cells are layered over the Pancoll solution and, after centrifugation, fractions separate according to their density while red cells and granulocytes aggregate and sediment. The higher density (1.100 g/ml) allows recovery of cell fractions denser than standard 1.077 preparations.

Reliable density-gradient separation. A ready-to-use Pancoll solution at 1.100 g/ml for recovery of cells with higher densities.

Why Pancoll human (high density)

  • Defined density – 1.100 g/ml, matched to the target fraction.
  • Ready-to-use – no preparation, layer and centrifuge.
  • Gentle separation – hydrophilic polysaccharide, well tolerated by cells.
  • Reproducible – quality-controlled for consistent gradients.

Frequently asked questions

What is Pancoll human (high density)?

Pancoll human (high density) is a ready-to-use density gradient separation solution based on a hydrophilic polysaccharide (molecular weight 400,000 Da). At a density of 1.100 g/ml, it is optimised for recovery of cells with higher densities by density gradient centrifugation: cells are layered over the Pancoll solution and, after centrifugation, fractions separate according to their density while red cells and granulocytes aggregate and sediment. The higher density (1.100 g/ml) allows recovery of cell fractions denser than standard 1.077 preparations.

How is Pancoll human (high density) used?

Layer the diluted blood sample carefully over the Pancoll solution without mixing, centrifuge (e.g. 800 g, 20 min, 20 °C, brake off), then harvest the target cell band and wash.

How is Pancoll human (high density) stored?

Store at +2 °C to +20 °C in the dark. Stable 3 years from production.
