Human Serum Albumin (HSA) 20 % solution, premium grade, US origin, is a non-preserved albumin solution (200 g/L) prepared from lyophilised powder. HSA (molecular weight about 66.5 kDa) is the most abundant plasma protein; it regulates colloidal osmotic pressure, buffers pH and acts as a carrier for hormones, fatty acids and other compounds. It solubilises lipids and stabilises proteins such as growth factors, and is used as a serum substitute in serum-free and xeno-free culture, as a cryopreservation and stem cell medium component, and as a blocking agent. It is manufactured to US and European Pharmacopeia specifications with strict donor selection and screening.
