FBS Dialyzed is a fetal bovine serum that is dialyzed against 0.15 M NaCl solution through a 10,000 Da molecular-weight cut-off membrane to significantly reduce small molecules such as amino acids, hormones and cytokines. The glucose level, which reflects the extent of dialysis, is below 10 mg/dL after processing. It is sourced from serum of defined South America origin, with the country of origin confirmed on the Certificate of Analysis for each lot, virus and mycoplasma tested, and 0.2 µm sterile-filtered.

Small-molecule-depleted serum. Dialysis against 0.15 M NaCl (10,000 Da cut-off) reduces small molecules such as amino acids, hormones and cytokines, making it suitable for radiolabeling assays and other work sensitive to these components.

Why FBS Dialyzed

  • Dialyzed – dialyzed against 0.15 M NaCl through a 10,000 Da cut-off membrane; glucose below 10 mg/dL.
  • Small molecules reduced – reduces small molecules such as amino acids, hormones and cytokines.
  • Defined origin – South America origin; country of origin confirmed on the CoA for each lot.
  • Quality controlled – virus and mycoplasma tested, 0.2 µm sterile-filtered.

Frequently asked questions

How is the serum dialyzed?

It is dialyzed against 0.15 M NaCl solution through a 10,000 Da molecular-weight cut-off membrane. The glucose level, which reflects the extent of dialysis, is below 10 mg/dL after processing.

What is it used for?

Radiolabeling assays and other applications that require serum depleted of small molecules such as amino acids, hormones and cytokines.
