Dulbecco’s Phosphate Buffered Saline (DPBS) without calcium and magnesium is a buffered salt solution used to maintain pH and osmolality and to provide essential inorganic ions. It is mainly used to wash tissues and cells and as a carrier solution. This DPBS is notable for its very low endotoxin content. Because it contains neither calcium, magnesium nor sodium bicarbonate, it supports the activity of trypsin during cell dissociation. A GMP-grade version (CT-36500) is available.
