Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) 30 % solution, low salt, is an optimised albumin solution with added albumin polymers for increased avidity and a low sodium and chloride content. BSA (molecular weight 66,430 Da) is the main protein of serum; in cell culture and assays it stabilises cell membranes, binds fatty acids, bilirubin, hormones and potentially toxic elements, and serves as a protein stabiliser and diluent. This variant contains azide as a preservative for extended shelf life and is manufactured under ISO 9001-certified conditions.
