Pancoll animal, density 1.077 g/ml is a ready-to-use density gradient separation solution based on a hydrophilic polysaccharide (molecular weight 400,000 Da). At a density of 1.077 g/ml, it is optimised for separation of blood cells from various non-human species by density gradient centrifugation: cells are layered over the Pancoll solution and, after centrifugation, fractions separate according to their density while red cells and granulocytes aggregate and sediment. It provides a general-purpose solution for a wide range of non-human species.
