Erythrocyte Lysis Buffer (1x) is a ready-to-use buffer for the selective lysis of red blood cells in samples containing white blood cells, such as EDTA-, citrate- or heparin-treated whole blood, buffy coats and bone marrow. It contains ammonium chloride, potassium hydrogen carbonate and EDTA, is sterile-filtered (0.2 µm) and contains no fixative and no preservatives. The ammonium chloride lyses red cells with minimal effect on lymphocytes when used as directed.

Clear red cells, keep your leukocytes. A ready-to-use ammonium chloride buffer for selective erythrocyte lysis with minimal effect on lymphocytes.

Why Erythrocyte Lysis Buffer

  • Selective lysis – removes red cells with minimal effect on lymphocytes.
  • Ready-to-use – 1x buffer, sterile-filtered, no fixative or preservative.
  • Before analysis – a common prep step for flow cytometry and cell sorting.
  • Defined composition – ammonium chloride, potassium hydrogen carbonate and EDTA.
