ITS Solution II is a 100x insulin-transferrin-selenium supplement, offered as an alternative formulation to ITS Solution I. Like ITS I it allows a substantial reduction of the fetal bovine serum requirement for routine maintenance and low-density attachment of many adherent cell types, and it promotes optimal performance of serum-free media. Insulin supports glucose and amino acid uptake, transferrin carries iron, and selenite acts as an antioxidant cofactor.

Add 10 ml of ITS Solution II (100x) per litre of medium. Optimal growth may still require 2-4 % FBS.
How is ITS Solution II (100x) stored?
Store at -20 °C. Once thawed, keep at 2-8 °C and avoid further freeze-thaw cycles. Stable 2 years from production.
