ITS Solution I is a 100x supplement containing insulin (human recombinant), apo-transferrin (human) and sodium selenite. Adding ITS to conventional basal media allows a substantial reduction of the fetal bovine serum requirement for routine maintenance and low-density attachment of many adherent cell types. Insulin promotes glucose and amino acid uptake, transferrin serves as an iron carrier and reduces toxic oxygen radicals, and selenite acts as a cofactor for glutathione peroxidase. A GMP-grade version (CT-03110) is in preparation (coming soon).

How is ITS Solution I (100x) used?
Add 10 ml of ITS Solution I (100x) per litre of medium. Optimal growth may still require 2-4 % FBS.
How is ITS Solution I (100x) stored?
Store at -20 °C. Once thawed, keep at 2-8 °C and avoid further freeze-thaw cycles. Stable 2 years from production.
Is a GMP-grade version available?
A GMP-grade version (CT-03110) is in preparation (coming soon), manufactured GMP EU Annex 1-compliant by PAN-Celltech.
