CMRL-1066 is a chemically defined, nucleoside- and vitamin-rich medium developed in the late 1950s by Connaught Medical Research Laboratories as a highly modified, less complex version of M199. It was initially designed for the unsupplemented (serum-free) culture of L-strain cells and has been used to maintain monolayer growth of permanent cell lines for years without protein supplementation; it can also be supplemented with serum to support the growth of many cell types. This version contains no L-glutamine and no phenol red and contains no proteins, lipids or growth factors.
CMRL-1066 – available RUO and GMP. A chemically defined, nucleoside- and vitamin-rich medium for serum-free or serum-supplemented monolayer culture; a matched GMP grade (CT-84600) is available.
