FBS Good is a specially processed, filtrated bovine serum from EU-approved regions. Serum from selected batches is filtrated and separated into individual components by a sophisticated chromatographic method; the growth-promoting components are then recombined and restored in a defined process. The aim is a naturally defined serum with a sustained growth-promoting property and higher safety – and, compared with conventional FBS, FBS Good has been shown to support the growth of many different cell types equally well or even better. It is not blended or enhanced by adding growth factors or proteins, has a very low endotoxin level and is produced under continuous quality control; virus- and mycoplasma-tested and 0.2 µm sterile-filtered.
