Neuropan is a basal medium that supports neuronal survival and meets the special cell culture requirements of pre-natal and embryonic neuronal cells from hippocampus, cortex and other regions of the brain. Before use, Neuropan basal medium is supplemented by the user – with serum, or with the Neuropan 27 or NS21 Supplement for serum-free culture; an additional 25 µM glutamate is added for initial culture. It supports both long- and short-term maintenance of neuronal cells.
