Panserin 801 is a complete serum-free medium designed for the cultivation of human keratinocytes, which concurrently prevents the overgrowth of the culture with fibroblasts. It is supplied as a kit with 6 supplements, giving a defined serum-free background without the batch-to-batch variability associated with animal serum. Keratinocytes are the primary cell type of the human epidermis, comprising about 90 % of epidermal cells and essential for skin barrier function. Panserin 801 provides the growth conditions these cells need while keeping the culture free of fibroblast contamination.
