Glycine 100 mM Buffer, pH 3.0 is a defined, ready-to-use low-pH buffer. In downstream processing it serves mainly as a low-pH elution buffer for affinity (Protein A) capture - an alternative to citrate - and for low-pH hold steps. As a GMP-grade buffer with a fixed composition and pH it is used broadly across biologics platforms, from monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, mRNA and cell & gene therapy.

One GMP quality. Glycine 100 mM Buffer, pH 3.0 is a GMP-grade catalogue product (CT-69500), manufactured by PAN-Celltech and released against a defined quality-control panel on every lot.

Why

  • Defined low pH - Fixed pH 3.0 ± 0.2 for reproducible elution.
  • Alternative to citrate - For Protein A platforms that prefer a glycine system.
  • GMP grade - Catalogue GMP quality, released per lot.
  • Multi-application - One buffer across antibody, vaccine, mRNA and C&G downstream.

In the downstream process - by application

Glycine 100 mM Buffer, pH 3.0 is used at the following process steps across the four biologics platforms:

Monoclonal antibodies

  • Protein A capture - alternative low-pH elution.
  • Viral inactivation - low-pH hold where a glycine system is preferred.

Vaccines

  • Affinity / IEX - acidic elution or low-pH hold where used.

mRNA

  • Not typically used in this modality.

Cell & gene therapy

  • Affinity capture (AAV / viral vectors) - low-pH elution.

Frequently asked questions

What is Glycine 100 mM Buffer used for?

It is used mainly as a low-pH elution buffer for Protein A affinity capture and for low-pH hold steps in downstream processing.

What is the pH?

It is supplied at a fixed pH of 3.0 ± 0.2.

Can it be used outside antibody processes?

Yes. It is a general low-pH buffer applicable across monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, mRNA and cell & gene therapy downstream, wherever a defined low-pH buffer is required.
