Monoclonal antibodies represent a groundbreaking advancement in the field of medicine. They detect and bind to specific epitopes, the parts of an antigen which are recognized by the immune system. Polyclonal antibodies, which are derived from multiple cell lines, recognize various epitopes, whereas monoclonal antibodies are produced from a single cell line and target one specific epitope. This specificity has paved the way for targeted therapies in various diseases.
Antibody producing cells can be created by using the hybridoma technology. This technique involves fusing B cells with myeloma cells. The resulting hybridoma cells have the antibody-producing ability of the B cells and the longevity and robustness of myeloma cells.
We manufacture media, supplements and reagents which are essential for the upstream and downstream phase of antibody production. With our off-the-shelf products as well as customized formulations we offer suitable solutions for the generation of hybridoma cells and screening as well as antibody production and purification.
